[South Kordofan, Sudan, RT] Air bombing by the Sudan Armed Forces and the continued killing and looting of citizens' properties has made living conditions in the area very difficult, according to religious leaders from the Nuba Mountains.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj, Pastor Timo Akonck said the continued bombing by the Sudan Air Force on citizens caused insecurity and forced the people to seek shelter in the mountains amid shortages of food and drugs and complete lack of education.

He called on humanitarian agencies to exercise more pressure on the government to stop bombing the area and allow access to humanitarian assistance.

For his part, Pastor Bolis Abuswana said the air bombing has claimed many civilians lives during this month. He called for the protection of civilian lives in the Nuba Mountains.
